Waterpark Simulator staff automate the chores you learned in the beginner guide — tickets, food, cleaning, repairs, rescues, security, mood, and restocking. Eight roles ship in 1.0: Cashier, Vendor, Janitor, Maintenance, Lifeguard, Security, Mascot, and Restocker. None appear for free: each requires Research Table hiring tiers before the hire menu lets you assign zones. This Waterpark Simulator staff guide covers unlock order, staff overflow (too many hires for your zones or income), wage pressure, and co-op handoffs. Verified August 16, 2026 · Steam.

Each role maps to one manual job from early game. Hire to remove a measured bottleneck — not because the menu unlocked a new name. The table below is the authoritative 1.0 roster CayPlay ships with the July 31, 2026 update.

| Role | Automates | Hire when |
|---|---|---|
| Cashier | Ticket booth sales and queue throughput | Gate steals more than thirty percent of your open hours |
| Vendor | Snack and drink stalls — hot dogs, lemonade, ice cream | Food path is far from where you already stand for gate or pools |
| Janitor | Mop wet spots, scoop pool waste, empty trash bins | Second splash zone goes live or poop events outrun one human loop |
| Maintenance | Hammer repairs on broken slides and ride pieces | Two or more rides break during a single peak day |
| Lifeguard | Drowning rescue response in zoned water | Deep pool, diving board, or long custom drop opens to guests |
| Security | Eject bracelet cheaters and troublemakers | Cheaters steal revenue or stall lines often enough to notice |
| Mascot | Guest happiness and photo-spot mood boosts | Diamond rating push with cleanliness and safety already stable |
| Restocker | Shelf refills across distant vendor stalls | Multiple food points run dry while you are on gate or build duty |
Food service consolidates under Vendor. Pool and walkway cleaning consolidates under Janitor. Older preview materials sometimes listed Cook or Cleaner — the Research Table and hire menu use Vendor and Janitor in the release build.
Staff do not appear on day one. Hiring Level 1 research unlocks Cashier. Hiring Level 2 unlocks Vendor and Janitor. Subsequent tiers add Maintenance, Lifeguard, Security, Mascot, and Restocker on the path documented in the research guide. Research unlocks availability; daily wages still deduct from ticket and food income.
Clicking hire on a grayed role wastes menu time and confuses co-op partners who think NPCs will appear. Buy the tier at the Research Table between days, then hire one role the next morning with zones drawn before you open.
Your personal mop and ticket sales earn more research points per action than staff chores early on. Hire to free your hands for build and rescue, not to zero out manual work on day two — or the next table unlock arrives late.
Staff overflow is the state where payroll rises but the park still looks unmanned: brown pools, frozen gate, broken main slide, cheaters slipping through. Causes include hiring duplicate roles without expanded zones, hiring before income supports wages, or assigning zones that miss splash exits and bins.
Janitors path to assigned tiles. If the new custom loop exits outside the zone, poop sits while wages tick. Fix the zone before you blame pathing. Same for Lifeguard pools drawn too shallow or Cashier booths placed away from the actual queue spawn.
Default hire order for standard progression. Skip ahead only when a specific crisis — drownings, cheaters, vendor stockouts — forces it.
| Order | Role | Trigger signal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cashier | You cannot leave gate during peak without lines freezing |
| 2 | Janitor | Second pool or slide exit generates more mess than one mop loop |
| 3 | Vendor | You sprint food while gate or pools already demand both hands |
| 4 | Lifeguard | Deep water or high slide opens before you can watch splash full-time |
| 5 | Maintenance | Breakdowns pause fun on multiple rides same day |
| 6 | Restocker | Two or more vendor stalls with chronic empty shelves |
| 7 | Security | Bracelet cheaters or line jumpers appear every other peak |
| 8 | Mascot | Diamond push with operations stable — not a cleanliness fix |
Zones are rectangles or patrol areas you draw at hire time. Staff only act inside them. A perfect hire with a zone missing the trash bin at slide two is a perfect waste of wages.

After you open a new custom slide wing, walk the exit path before peak: bin placed, zone updated, Lifeguard coverage confirmed. Ten minutes of zoning prevents overflow on day ten.
Each hire adds daily salary. Early parks run thin margins — tickets plus one snack stand minus one Janitor can net positive only if cleanliness keeps guests paying full price. Stack hires faster than guest count grows and mafia loan pressure from the money guide arrives sooner than Diamond rating.
Raise ticket price only when fun, food, and cleanliness meters justify it. Add a second vendor stall before Restocker if distances are still walkable. Wages are fixed daily burns; ticket mistakes are player-fixable.
Once Cashier and Janitor run reliable zones, human players in multiplayer shift toward build, research planning, and custom slide testing. Until then, manual chores still beat staff for research points — do not hire away the farm while three friends want to hammer only.
Designate one player to hire, fire, and re-zone per night. Parallel menu edits duplicate wages and erase zones without verbal coordination.

Unlock the role via Research hiring tiers, hire from the staff menu, then paint work zones so the NPC path covers the chore area. Overflow often means zones are empty or overlapping — reassign before hiring more.
Research the first hiring unlock, open the hire menu, pick Cashier, and zone them on ticket booths before peak opens.
